Since 2002 I have worked in the field of paper restauration, including glossy paper and photography. I have completed several restauration projects in Italy and abroad. I have collaborated with public and private institutions. Since 2012 I have been teaching photo restoration at the “Accademia di Belle Arti” (Bologna). From 2011 to 2020 I have taught at Isia (Urbino – Italy)

My education is always ongoing. Recently, I have studied some of the latest techniques for cleaning paper with gel and nanogels, as well as lining methods. I have also conducted researches on cellulose acetates

Work Experiences

  • “Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica” (National Institute for Graphic) (Rome);
  • “Laboratorio Diagnostico per le matrici incise” (Diagnostic Laboratory for etched matrixes) (Rome). I have specialized in the restauration of Eighteenth-Century paper specimen and matrixes. I have collaborated in the organization and curation of several exhibitions;
  • “Istituto per il Catalogo e la Documentazione” (Cataloguing and Documentation Institute). I have catalogued and restored historical photographs from the Institute’s photo-library;
  • Cineteca (Bologna - Italy). Head of the laboratory for the restauration of photographs and extra-filmic materials. I have worked on the “Cinema” and “Bologna” collections in the Cineteca’s photographic archive. I have managed the collections of the Cineteca during exhibitions of its originals works;
  • I have restored works of art on paper and photographic heritage for several public and private institutions such as “Galleria Civica di Modena (FMAV)”; “Musei Civici (Modena)”; “Biblioteca Panizzi” (Reggio Emilia); the “Same Deutz-Fahr” Archive; Foundation “Cassa di Risparmio di Imola” (Imola), “Foundation del Monte” (Bologna – Ravenna); “Foundation Palazzo Magnani” (Reggio Emilia), “Max Mara” Archive (Reggio Emilia); “Mast Foundation” (Bologna).
